Bird Rite

The Logan River runs down one side of the camping ground and is a favourite swimming spot for locals as well as campers.  Day use is free.  Fire drums are strategically placed around the Reserve and wood is available at the kiosk so you can have a magic camp-fire.
(Chain saws are banned from the park to protect all the beautiful logs scattered throughout the grounds.)

Swimming, fishing, birds and wild life are highlights of your stay in a natural bush land setting.  Fishing is mainly for bass but there are some big mullet in there as well.  A number of platypuses and turtles live in the permanent deep swimming hole.  We have a variety of birds including grey babblers, galahs, king parrots plus the usual assortment of lorikeets, kookaburras and magpies.  Possums are very regular visitors at night, and at times the koalas can be quite vocal.  Wallabies are on the adjoining cattle properties and very rarely come into the reserve itself.

Birds Swimming

Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be restrained at all times. Flanagan Reserve is a family orientated camping ground, motorbikes are not allowed for pleasure driving through the camping area, however push bikes are very popular, particularly with the children.
Santa visits with lollies for the children on Christmas Eve, and free live entertainment is provided on New Years Eve and Easter Saturday Night.  Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, or just sit back at camp and relax.
